Wildside Health Clinic and Dispensary

My name is Louise Courtney and I am a consulting medical herbalist having completed a four-year advanced diploma in Herbal Medicine with Heartwood College, accredited by the National Institute of Medical Herbalists. I have been rigorously trained in the medical sciences including diagnostic reasoning, anatomy and physiology, pathophysiology of disease, clinical examinations, pharmacognosy and drug/herb interactions. Alongside the medical training, I have studied the materia medica, (the medicinal plants) their constituents, therapeutic actions and uses. A herbalist must be a good, empathic, active listener and this topic and crucial skill are included in counselling and lifestyle training and honed during our 500 clinical hours completed.

I look forward to working collaboratively with my patients to improve their health for the long term and to give them agency over their own health and well-being. Through being professional, compassionate and knowledgeable, and with the power of the herbs, I know these aims are achievable!

The clinic space is located in Lee-on-the-Solent, close to Solent airport, and is therefore conveniently located for patients coming from Stubbington, Fareham and Gosport, as well as from Lee-on-the-Solent. It is also easily accessible from Junctions 9 & 11 of the M27 for those patients coming from further afield and there is free parking in the allocated parking space at the front of the building. Along with a consultation and examination space, the clinic room comprises a purpose built herbal dispensary which means the herbal medicine can be dispensed while you wait. The dispensary includes a wide range of products including herbal tinctures, teas, glycerites and topical products, alongside a selection of additional and complementary products such as herbal and nutritional supplements, and concentrated plant and fruit juices. Off-the-shelf herbal tea blends for common conditions are also available. Currently clinic and dispensary access is by appointment only. Book online or give us a call.
